Commenting & Online Participation Guidelines
The Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 invites you to comment on our blog posts and participate in our online community and virtual exhibits. The Museum is dedicated to maintaining a respectful online space for engaging, informative and cross-cultural conversations. When you submit your comments, tag or contribute to an online exhibit, you agree to our guidelines below. Our guidelines are enforced by system moderation tools and Museum staff.
Civility and respect for the topic and material presented, as well as the comments and submissions of others, is adhered to at all times. While everyone is encouraged to share their opinions, the opinions expressed must be respectful and constructively add to the conversation. The Museum reserves the right to determine which comments or contributions are spam, off-topic or offensive and will remove them. Comments containing profanity will also be removed.
The Museum does not tolerate comments or submissions which are disrespectful of cultures, beliefs or lifestyles. The Museum does not tolerate intentionally inflammatory language or concepts. These types of comments will be removed and if a user repeatedly posts these types of comments, they will be excluded from online participation.
Comments may be pre-moderated. Our moderators may read comments before they appear on our site. If that is the case, you will see your comment as pending approval. We try to approve comments as quickly as possible; although, wait times may vary.
Help us make this online space safe for everyone. If you see an abusive post, please use the “Report Abuse” button or send a report to email@example.com immediately.
You must create an account and login to post comments, tag or contribute to our virtual exhibits. Your screen name cannot be changed once the account is created.
